Gi Myao is a fashion illustrator and art director based in London, England.
Born into a military background, non-artistic family. Her father is an Admiral of the Navy and both grandparents are Second World War heroes. Gi started drawing at the age of four. The following year, she made an outstanding impression during a professional drawing class and became the youngest girl to ever enroll there. Her childhood was spent in Asia and Europe where she educated and trained at the exquisite primary and secondary Art schools. Taught by the most prestigious professional artists. Drawing everyday and wouldn’t go anywhere without a sketchbook.
Accepted by Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts in London at the age of 19. Graduated with first class honors in Fashion Design with Marketing. Winning ‘Nina De York Illustration Award’ in the London Institute. She began working as a fashion illustrator and working extensively for international magazines and fashion houses.
June 2010, her first solo exhibition was held at Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong. Showing her new and unpublished catwalk illustrations.
September 2010, Gi founded Kittens Are Playing. A contemporary T-shirt project using only 100% fair-trade organic baby-soft cotton, printed by hand in England.
Summer 2011, Gi tied the knot with Laurence in Somerset after 11 years happily together.
